Many Christians today have little appreciation of the history of the Christian Church. While they recognize the great events surrounding the coming of Christ and the growth of the apostolic church, yet they are unaware of the later movements which are also of vital importance. The life and ministry of Martin Luther marked a decisive return to biblical teaching and inaugurated an era of Christian history of which we are still a part. Having found peace with God through Christ alone, Luther proclaimed the evangelical message and in so doing initiated the Protestant Reformation of the sixteenth century. Evangelical Christians today are heirs of that heritage.

Jim Cromarty is a retired minister of the Presbyterian Church of Eastern Australia. He also taught for twenty-seven years in a number of primary schools in Australia, eventually becoming principal of a large primary school. This audio presentation is read by his brother John Cromarty.
