Living for God's pleasure

The fruit of the Spirit

Derek Prime

Large Paperback   192 pp

Fruitfulness is what God requires from the beginning of our Christian life. As soon as he calls us to faith in his Son, he calls us to repentance and the fruit it produces. While repentance is not once for all, since the Christian life calls for daily repentance and turning from sin, it is one of the initial fruits of new birth and conversion.

Spiritual life is living by the Spirit, depending upon him and obeying him as he points us to the Lord Jesus Christ and encourages us to model our lives on his. As we do so, we will bear the kind of spiritual fruit that brings praise and pleasure to God.

Derek Prime helpfully deals with the fruit of the Spirit in a practical way, and includes a section of questions to stimulate further discussion or for use in Bible study groups.

After serving churches in the UK as a pastor for a total of approximately thirty years — first at Lansdowne Evangelical Free Church, West Norwood in London, and then at Charlotte Chapel in Edinburgh — Derek Prime has devoted himself since 1987 to an itinerant ministry and to writing. He is also the author of Unspoken lessons about the unseen God — the Welwyn Commentary on Esther.
